WHEW!  What a day we had today! I am glad the Fed meeting is over! This was a very rare day for me that “didnt” have to happen. I’ll explain in a moment.. First as we all know the FED cut rates by 25 basis points. The market reacted, and price action went down, up, down and up again. The Dow closed up 137.54. The S&P 500 closed about 18 points higher. Moving on…

In my Futures Day Trading Course , I teach the importance of trading the pre market hours. Usually around 8 – 8:15 am is my starting time. My methods work great in the pre market hours, especially when we have economic reports out. Of course today we had 3 reports out.

My methods produced 3 pre market winners totalling 1.25 points (trading my conservative method). By the way, I trade very conservatively

Of course my Day Trading Course guarantees you will make 1 point a day, trading the SP 500 Eminis. My methods did just that in the pre market today. So anybody trading my methods should have been done trading for the day around 9 am. Long before the market ever opened. Of course I did take all 3 of those trades and had all winners. PERFECT DAY? Not quite:

I chose to keep trading after the open! I made a pretty big mistake that cost me about 1 point – and I also took a couple “legitimate” stop outs. Fortunately for myself and other Tick Traders, our methods are very forgiving and I was able to still come out ahead about 2 points after commish.

The funny thing is (AND I SWEAR THIS IS TRUE) I made 13 trades and my net profit was 13 ticks!! Did I mention today is HALLOWEEN!! Trick or Treat. Wow. I am not superstitious, but that was kinda weird. It also reminided me to FOLLOW MY OWN RULES. I should have been outta here by 9 am with 3 winning trades booked.

In either case, here is the (long) list of my trades.

PRE-MARKET:

  • Trade 1: + 1 Tick
  • Trade 2: + 2 Ticks
  • Trade 3: + 2 Ticks

After the bell:

  • Trade 4: + 1 Tick (see video, members!)
  • Trade 5: – 5 Ticks
  • Trade 6: – 6 Ticks
  • Trade 7: + 3 Ticks
  • Trade 8: – 4 Ticks
  • Trade 9: + 5 Ticks
  • Trade 10 + 3 Ticks
  • Trade 11 + 3 Ticks
  • Trade 12 + 4 Ticks
  • Trade 13 + 4 Ticks

Net Total 13 Ticks +3.25 Points – after commish I was up about 2 points.

I had to take a break in the late morning. Volume was low and I wanted to wait until after the Fed meeting. I was also a little aggravated with myself, so I needed the break.

At the end of the day I did make my daily income.  Thats what my methods are all about : trading for a daily paycheck!  I did make 2 points profit today, which is a little more than what I usually aim for. After my 12th trade, I wasnt exactly sure what my commission bill was so I took the 13th trade to make sure I was in the green.

My personal goal is to trade early, and be done early. Today was no different then any other day except that I broke my own rule and traded after I had my daily profit goal! It worked out becuase the methods are very accurate, precise, and very forgiving. The point I am making is, that you can trade all day using my methods, but I dont prefer to. If one can make 1 point a day profit, to me, your doing quite well. Keep that in mind. Also, I did (almost) double my income today – but it took all day long.

I want to be clear here: I am not against trading all day long. The Tick Trader methods deliver! We have 20+ setups a day but I like making a quick point and quitting for the day. However, if I take a loss – I must commit to trading all day long! Another reason why I like the pre market is if I do catch a couple losing trades, I have all day long to get ahead! Although, I usually do not need the whole day!

Ok. thats it for now. Enjoy the evening everybody! Happy Halloween! Be safe out there tonight !

Good Trading 🙂
