E-mini Day Trading Results 9/3/2009
I started the day trading the ZB – the bonds were a bit slow. I took a nice NSE and I was targeting 4 ticks. After 10 minutes I simply adjusted to a 2 tick target. So after commission I was up $59 per contract. That in itself is my daily income. However I chose to do some day trading on the emini sp as well:
I had 11 trades today on the emini markets. It’s worth noting on 2 of the trades that I lost I should have easily won on. These 2 trades cost me 10 ticks – but had I followed the rules, and wasn’t so aggressive those same trades would have been + 6 ticks which would have reduced my day trading time and commissions! The first was a pullback trade that I aggressively was targeting 6 ticks on (I normally go for 4) – it gave 5 but not 6 – so I ended up with a 4 tick loser! I then had another pullback that was just before a report (big no-no for me to trade the reports) it had 3 ticks profit – and had I realized the report was about 90 seconds away – I would have taken the 3 ticks! Instead I got stopped out.
Fortunately my day trading system is forgiving and we teach how to recover from losing trades. So I had a longer day trading – but I did make my 1 point profit on the eminis and an additional profit on the bond markets!
With tomorrow being the beginning of a long holiday weekend. I will more than likely trade a little more today in the afternoon when volume picks up and see if I can make my point for tomorrow and relax for the long weekend!
