Futures Trading Blog

Happy Columbus Day! To be honest, I really thought banks, schools, and the markets were closed today! My bank was closed, but my kids are in school and I had students trading my futures trading course in our live trading room today 🙂 I guess we all forget from time to time!

We had another One and Done today! I didn’t trade (duh!!) so I only have a couple of screen shots to discuss – chart 1 you will see we had a Normal System Entry coming out of No Zone – a high probability trade that won! We also had a Super EET trade on chart #2 that was good for a quick 4 ticks, or more if you held out for the NSE on Chart 1! Ended up being a great trading day!

Folks I must say, there is a lot of negative news out there today on the economy, markets, housing, etc… It’s a good thing futures day trading is still good! It’s a great thing The Tick Trader System is still rocking and rolling as I don’t know how good this economy will be over the next 12 – 24 months! To be honest, I think it’s going to be pretty dismal! As a member of this planet I really hate to see this economy fall down again, yet I am not sure if it really ever recovered from the previous “break-down”. However as a futures trader I must say, our system has really outperformed!

In 2008 the markets collapsed and we learned we we’re in recession. The volatility index (VIX) made an all time high, but our futures trading system has been rocking and rolling. Then the volatility index went all the way to the other side, and our trading system still did well! So over the past couple years we have really seen covered the gamut if you will in regards to market action – yet we’re still here making money every day!

It’s a good thing too.

Read the latest today? Foreclosures are basically being halted in America.. Here’s a good CNBC read: note this statement : “A U.S.-wide foreclosure moratorium would be “catastrophic”…..” read on….

Economists cut 2010, and 2011 Growth Forecast to 2.6 % – read about that here:

And of course there is the employment problem in the US. That unfortunately is not getting better…

Just not a lot of good news on a Holiday! Quite depressing actually…

So why do I share all this? Well for one, it’s important and you simply need to know.. next, it’s important that we plan ahead for some more downturns in this economy, and most of all it’s almost a given that the volatility is going to increase! That’s the silver lining in this gray cloud! Futures day trader, like us – can make money! This an absolutely great time to learn more about day trading! It’s also a great time to start learning one of the better futures trading methods available – anywhere – The Tick Trader Day Trading System. Our students have been experiencing great results for years! However, we absolutely see more trades and more potential profit (more than 1 point per day) during extremes like this!!

Folks the Dow is back above 11,000. To be honest, that means very little to traders. But to the “world” it means a lot. People, investors, and politicians want (and perhaps NEED!) the Dow to stay above 11,000. But what’s really holding it there?? And more importantly what will happen if it can’t sustain it? I’ll let you decide for yourself, but we shall see for sure, in do time.

In any event another “One and Done” day, although I missed the whole day, but I did have a good Columbus Day, and I hope you did too! So feel free to browse our site and learn more about our futures trading course!

Cheers!
ETS
