Another great week trading with The Tick Trader Day Trading System. Monday as you know was our toughest day of the year! But we STILL made money! The rest of the week was great. Lots of one and done trades, but we did have some days with losing trades! We remained focused and disciplined and recovered. Today I had 2 losers, and a bunch of winners. Wow what a day. This was the TOUGHEST trading day for me ALL YEAR long! Did you watch the past two videos? I sure hope so. I have been ranting and raving all last week about discipline, emotions, trading plans, etc etc… So when the tough gets tough, what do I REALLY do? Well folks. We make it abundantly clear that trading is not easy. Truth be told, a good portion of the time, it’s not hard. It’s not rocket science. Once your emotions are under control and you have a good trading system, you should be fine.

Day Trading IS a business, but it’s a little bit different. We HAVE to take losing trades. It’s PART of the business. And it’s an expected part of the business. Accepting that is easy to do. Dealing with it emotionally is the hard part. This is the big disconnect right here. This is where some traders FAIL and blame the system developer, or blame something else. Sometimes a prudent and persistent trader will realize his/her mistakes, blame themselves for being too emotional, LEARN FROM IT, and move onto become a successful trader. Another disconnect here as well, but that is an entirely different blog post.

One thing I teach my students to do is a technique called “The 5 Point Challenge”. This is a very important step for students to take when trading my system. Here’s the thing… To trade, successfully, we need experience. Our “one and done” win rate is pretty high. With that said, if a new student were to attempt to learn my system and every day we had a one and done he stopped, it would take him a long time to learn my system.
